About
“What’s going to happen to them… when I can’t be here? …I need to make sure they are going to be okay.”
THIS sentiment is at the core of all our families’ concerns.
North Bay Housing Coalition is here for YOU
We believe that people living with intellectual/ developmental disabilities should have equal access to affordable housing, independence, and the opportunity to live a vital life in their community.
Our Beginning
The seed for North Bay Housing Coalition was planted in the early 1990’s when founding board members, Bill Allen and John Shea, met with fellow advocates, Douglas Cleveland, Elvis Bozarth, and Lotte Moise to set in motion actions that would create housing for persons with intellectual /developmental disabilities.
What we Do
As a result, for 25 years we have helped people living with intellectual/developmental disabilities to thrive. By focusing on all aspects of housing from searching for available units to helping individuals retain their housing, from developing and partnering on set-aside units to owning and managing our own shared housing units, we believe affordable housing is essential to help anyone and everyone live their best life.
In our next 25 years we look forward to helping you or your loved one create THEIR BEST LIFE, one person, one home at a time.
Our Values and Mission
We believe that people living with intellectual/developmental disabilities can and should have equal access to affordable housing, independence, and the opportunity to live a vital life in their community.
We respect the goals and needs of each individual.
We are driven by the vision that all people living with intellectual/developmental disabilities will have the opportunity to create a living arrangement that allows them to live their best possible life.
